We have hand-picked our team from the best coaches in the area. All of our coaches and trainers are fully qualified and super friendly. Between them they have a vast knowledge of all things health and fitness. Giving you peace of mind that what ever you goal is, our trainers can help you to achieve it.

So whether you’re trying to bulk up and build muscle, or slim down and tone up, our coaches help you to get where you want to be. Each member of the team is trained on all of the equipment at the gym and if you ever need helping hand they’ll be more than happy to jump in and give you any advice or tips.

Ed Harper | Strength & Conditioning Coach / Baller

Ed is currently Physical Performance Coach working with England Football. Additionally, as a Strength & Conditioning Coach / Sport Scientist he supports a number of sports and athletes including Welsh Premier League champions The New Saints FC.


Following the completion of BSc (Hons) and MSc degree’s in Sport and Exercise Science; Strength and Conditioning he worked as a freelance practitioner for a range of athletes and teams whilst becoming a UK Strength and Conditioning Accredited Coach.  As a coach he has learnt from and worked with the best from GB Boxers and cyclists at the English Institute of Sport to Sale Sharks RUFC, Wigan Warriors RL and Wales RL.

Gez Roberts | Strength & Conditioning Coach / Personal Trainer

Geraint completed his BSc (Hons) in Sports Science at Bangor University in 2014 and proceeded to complete his MSc in Sports Science (Strength and Conditioning) at the University of Chester the following year (2015).

Geraint worked as a Sport Scientist for King’s School Rowing Club during his time studying for his Master’s degree and provided sports science support for the senior boys at their Easter training camp in Ghent, Belgium.

He is currently working with Mold RFC and Deeside Netball Club as a Strength and Conditioning coach as well as coaching his own Personal Training clients.

Whether your aim is to enhance performance in a specific sport or to generally get physically fitter with a fitness goal in mind, Geraint is able to design a programme and provide personal training and nutrition support tailored to suit your needs.

Si Cushman | Strength & Conditioning Coach / Personal Trainer

Simon is an experienced strength and conditioning coach currently working with Chester RUFC, City of Chester Swimming Club, Aspire Cycling Team and the sports scholars at the University of Chester. In the past he has worked with professional teams Warrington Wolves, Swinton Lions and amateur teams such as Prenton and schools in the Chester area.


As well as working in the applied world, Simon also works at the University of Chester in the sports science department where he is surrounded by current research and knowledge that he can use to put into practice. He teaches on the MSc course, specialising in resistance training, speed development and lifting technique


After completing a BSc and MSc in sport science and strength and conditioning, Simon opened up for business with Phoenix training, taking on clients who were looking for athletic or aesthetic improvements. He’s friendly and always free for a chat and some advice so say hi next time you’re in the gym.

Dan is an experienced strength & conditioning coach who has worked alongside many sports teams, including Mysercough College Rugby Team/Sale Sharks AASE, RGC 1404 1st XV, and Wrexham FC youth team.

Dan completed his Bsc (Hons) in Strength & Conditioning Science in 2014, and since then has used his credential in providing the fundamentals of strength and speed training to everyone he coaches. As well as having worked with many sports teams, Dan also provides Personal Training services to individuals who are just beginning to exercise or those who are looking to improve their current exercise regime, with many clients under his supervision already.

Nick is a vastly knowledgeable Strength & Conditioning coach who combines experience of competing at elite level with a huge passion for training and educating his clients.  This approach clearly works as he has trained a wide variety of clients including Daz Cooper (BNBF British champion and DFAC Pro Masters World Champıon), professional boxer’s, strongmen, rugby players and MMA fighters.

Over 25 years of strength training, lifting, power lifting and coaching everyone from complete novices to international standard athletes has given Nick a clear understanding of human anatomy and what it takes to get results!  Nick’s current passions are muscular hypertrophy (size) and powerlifting (Bench Press, Squat and Deadlift).


Gemma holds a BSc (Hons) Degree in Sports Therapy and runs GB Sports Therapy specialising in Sports Injuries and Sports Massage. Gemma is an Ex Welsh Netball Player and has a variety of experience including working at the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic games along with the Rugby League World Cup where she assisted the Welsh National Squad.

Gemma is the Head Therapist with the Everton FC Ladies U21 Squad and at local Welsh Premier League Football Club Gap Connahs Quay Nomads. She also assists the Welsh Football Trust with their regional camps and works alongside Welsh Netball.

Completed BSc Hons Sports Strength and Conditioning from University of Gloucestershire, in 2015. Currently studying MSc Exercise Rehabilitation at Bangor University and working towards UKSCA accreditation. Through my studies I have had experience in coaching athletes from sports including cricket, football and athletics, and hope to work in professional sport in the future. Particular areas of interest include physiology, prevention of various health issues through exercise, S&C for youth athletes and corrective exercise.
